The rewards are high, but the lows can be lonely and failures devastating. That\u2019s why one of the most important things a founder can do is to develop a strong sense of self\u2014 your strengths, weaknesses, motivations and ultimately your real worth and potential.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/camkashani\/\">Cam Kashani<\/a>, an entrepreneur, executive transformational coach and global speaker, who \u2014 after launching a very successful startup, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coloft.com\/\">CoLoft<\/a>, and earning the moniker \u201cThe Godmother of Silicon Beach\u201d \u2014 reinvented herself as a mentor who helps others, particularly women, to stop doubting themselves and make their dreams happen. She calls it \u201cAwakening your Divine Feminine Leader\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kashani has the life experience, both in business and her personal life, to back it up. Her first tech startup, MedMinister, \u201cwas a complete failure,\u201d she recalls. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coloft.com\/\">CoLoft<\/a>, one of the first coworking spaces to open in LA, was virtually an overnight success \u2014 in part because of lessons learned from her first company. As a launchpad for <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ziprecruiter.com\/\">Ziprecruiter<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uber.com\/global\/en\/cities\/los-angeles\/\">Uber LA<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/fullscreen.com\/\">Fullscreen<\/a> and other startups, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coloft.com\/\">CoLoft<\/a> helped to burnish LA\u2019s image as a growing tech hub. But her marriage suffered, and after a painful split, Cam reinvented herself yet again.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<span class='bctt-click-to-tweet'><span class='bctt-ctt-text'><a href='https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?url=https%3A%2F%2Ffoundersnetwork.com%2F%3Fp%3D18427&#038;text=%E2%80%9CNo%20doubt%20it%E2%80%99s%20hard%20to%20get%20someone%20to%20give%20you%20money.%20But%20are%20you%20allowing%20that%20to%20mean%20something%20negative%20about%20you%20if%20they%20say%20no%3F%E2%80%9D%20-%20%40CamSKashani&#038;via=foundersnetwork&#038;related=foundersnetwork' target='_blank'rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u201cNo doubt it\u2019s hard to get someone to give you money. There&#8217;s no doubt that it\u2019s hard to get someone to take out a check and give you money. But are you allowing that to mean something negative about you if they say no? Are you creating excuses in your mind and limiting beliefs and believing things that aren&#8217;t actually true?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Self-awareness is key to guarding yourself against damaging thought patterns that can hamper growth &#8211;and founders must build\u00a0 a clear understanding of their desires and motivations in founding a startup. But it\u2019s necessary to reframe your thinking that way if you want your company to go the distance. How do I go around it?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, there\u2019s a risk in becoming too attached to your startup &#8212; namely, to the specific outcome you envisioned at the outset.
